EXiT To The Thames

May 2009

Club Party Onboard The Golden Flame

We spoke with Chris about his upcoming EXiT to the Thames function on board Golden Jubilee

Who are you and what do you do?

EXiT Night Promotions are led by two DJ Friends Chris and Gary, who promote House and Electro nights at various locations across London.

Is this the first time you have organised a boat party?

This is the second boat party we have put on. The first was on the Dixie Queen paddle steamer. We intend to put more on this year, with one at the end of the summer, and potentially one on Fireworks night.

Do you theme your events?

Generally our nights are always fun, with the theme based on Fire ExiT/Emergency Exit signage, therefore the decoration/inflatables are green and white. This one will be slightly different as we intend to have a beach theme aboard, with the emphasis on people dressing up as pirates, beach goers, and pretty much any kind of seafarers.

What is the music style for your events?

We play a range of House at our events, ranging from vocal and funky right through to Dirty and Electro.

What type of crowd do you usually attract?

Our crowds are made up of people who really want to release some energy at the weekend. Our motto is ‘EXiT the Week Enter the Weekend’. We want people to have the best weekend with us and forget the week of work. This is something we build our nights around, and as such we attract a fun and energetic crowd who are always extremely friendly and happy.

What attracted you to Capital Pleasure Boats / our boats?

The size of the boat is just right. Almost 250 people aboard a boat on a Saturday afternoon will be awesome. The sound system is spot on, so we know this boat will be just right for what people want out of a boat party. Let's not forget the massive sun deck for the hot June afternoon (fingers crossed).

What's your favourite sight along the river Thames?

Plenty of amazing sights to choose from. Sailing past and looking up at Canary Wharf has to be right up there. Also floating under Tower Bridge and waving at the tourists, whilst dressed as pirates should be a sight not to miss.

What are you looking forward to most about your planned event with CPBS?

The music, the people, and the nautical theme.

Are you planning an after party anywhere?

Yes we have an afterparty at a venue right near to where we disembark. In fact it's no more than a 5 minute walk away. We are keeping it hush hush until nearer the time. But the party will continue until the early hours.

If money / distance were no object what would be the ultimate venue for your events?

We have enjoyed a few parties down the Thames and think the unique sights make it such a good place, but I guess if we could then either floating round sunset strip in Ibiza, or imagine floating down the Amazon, that would be pretty amazing.

How do we buy tickets?

Tickets are on sale now, either from the DJs or through Ticketweb. Or check out our facebook event page.
